The difference

We pinpoint the leak before we dig.

A pool can lose water through a single fitting twenty feet under the deck. We find that fitting first by isolating each line and listening for the leak, so the repair needs one small opening instead of a trench.

You get a written report of what we tested, what we found and where the leak is. The repair is then sized to the problem we found.

How detection works

Our process

Our three-step process.

We follow a set process instead of guessing. Each step narrows the search until there is one exact place to open.

    Detect

    We confirm the pool is losing water and rule out evaporation. Then we isolate each plumbing line and pressure-test it; a line that will not hold pressure is the one with the problem.

    Locate

    Acoustic listening equipment narrows the leak down to one point along the line, and we mark the surface above it. Nothing is opened to find the leak.

    Repair

    The repair needs only a small opening at the marked point. If you schedule it with us, the same crew that found the leak makes the repair, and your written report covers what was tested, found and fixed.

Pressure testing
Each line is isolated and held under pressure on a gauge. A line that will not hold pressure is the one that is leaking.

Acoustic listening
Ground microphones pick up the sound of escaping water along the pipe and narrow the leak to one point.

Dye testing
Dye released near the pool walls, fittings and lights shows exactly where water is escaping.

Line-by-line plumbing isolation
We identify which line is leaking before listening for the leak, so no time is spent on pipes that were never the problem.

Targeted access
We make one small opening at the marked point, only as large as the repair requires.

I’ve worked in the pool industry for over 20 years, and my goal has always been to take that uncertainty off the homeowner’s shoulders. We take the time to find the actual source of the leak, explain what we found clearly, and help you understand what needs to happen next.
