Vinyl Liner Pool Leak Repair
Once a leak in a vinyl liner pool has been located, it can be repaired where it is: a tear or puncture in the vinyl, an open seam, a liner pulled out of its bead track, a leaking fitting, or a plumbing line behind the liner. We do not replace full liners. We repair vinyl liner and above-ground pools in Melbourne, across the Space Coast and in Central Florida.
What we repair on a liner pool
Tears and punctures are patched. Many tears can be patched successfully, particularly away from seams and fittings, but it depends on the age and condition of the vinyl. An old, brittle liner may not hold a patch, and we will tell you that before the repair rather than after it.
Seam separations and a liner that has pulled out of the bead track are repaired where they have failed. Fittings are their own repair: wherever a skimmer, return, light or step passes through the vinyl there is a built-in weak point, and a leak there is fixed at the fitting rather than in the liner.
A vinyl liner pool has the same plumbing as any other pool, and a leaking line behind an intact liner looks the same from the surface as a liner leak. When the plumbing is the problem, the line is the repair and the liner is not.
If a liner is past the point where a repair will hold, we will tell you plainly.
Liner patches are not covered by a warranty. A vinyl liner can be torn again by things outside our control, so a new tear is a new repair.
What we repair, and what we do not
- Tears and punctures
- Patched in the vinyl. Whether a patch holds depends on the age and condition of the liner.
- Seam separations
- Factory-welded seams that have opened, which happens most often on older liners.
- Bead track
- A liner that has pulled away from the track holding it at the top of the wall.
- Fittings
- Leaks at skimmers, returns, lights and steps, where a hole was cut in the liner during installation.
- Plumbing lines
- Leaks in the lines behind the liner, confirmed by testing each line before the liner is blamed.
- Full liner replacement
- Not offered. We do not replace full liners, and we will tell you if a liner is past repair.

Do you replace vinyl liners?
No. We do not replace full liners. We repair the leaks in them: tears, punctures, open seams, bead track separations, leaking fittings and the plumbing behind the liner. If a liner is too old or brittle to hold a repair, we will tell you.
Will a patch hold on an older liner?
It depends on the age and condition of the vinyl. Many tears can be patched successfully, particularly away from seams and fittings. An old, brittle liner may not hold a patch, and we will tell you that before the repair.
Do you repair above-ground pools?
Yes. An above-ground pool is vinyl-lined, so its leaks are repaired the same way as any other vinyl liner pool, with the same exception: we do not replace full liners.
Are repair quotes free?
Yes, once we know what is broken. If we find more breaks during the repair, we will tell you the additional cost before fixing them, and you decide whether we repair those too.
Is a liner patch covered by a warranty?
No. A vinyl liner can be torn again by things outside our control, so liner patches are the one repair we do not warranty. Every other repair we make carries a one-year warranty, including repairs to the plumbing behind the liner.
