Underground leak detection
Underground is where guessing gets expensive. A line can run twenty feet under a deck and lose water at one joint, and the only cheap way to deal with that is to know which joint before anything is opened. We locate buried lines throughout our Florida service areas.
Finding something you cannot see
Buried lines are isolated and pressurised so the escape point makes a consistent, followable noise. Acoustic equipment narrows it along the run, and the surface above it is marked.
Thermal imaging helps where escaping water changes the surface temperature. A wet zone under a slab or a warm line under tile reads clearly even when nothing is visible.
Two steps are doing different work here and it is worth separating them. Pressure isolation establishes WHICH buried run is losing. Acoustic locating establishes WHERE along that run it is escaping. Isolation without locating leaves you digging a whole line; locating without isolation means listening to pipes that were never the problem.

Signs the loss is underground
- Soft or sinking ground
- Pavers settling, a soft patch in the lawn, or a hollow-sounding section of deck.
- Damp with no rain
- A persistently wet area near the equipment pad or along a plumbing run when it has not rained.
- Loss only when running
- Water dropping while the pump runs and holding when it stops points at the pressure side.
- Loss only when off
- The reverse pattern points somewhere else entirely. Both are useful.
- A water bill with no explanation
- Supply-side losses show up on the bill before they show up on the surface.

Questions people ask
Can you find a line without digging?
Locating it, yes. That is the point of the equipment. Reaching it to repair it means opening the ground at that spot, which is why the locating matters.
How accurate is the location?
Accurate enough to open a small, specific area rather than a trench. Depth, surface type and background noise all affect it, and we will tell you if a site is difficult.
Do you do supply lines as well as pool plumbing?
Yes. The method is the same for a buried water line. Tell us what you are seeing and we will say whether it is something we can help with.
How is this different from a standard pool leak detection visit?
It is the same visit when the loss turns out to be underground. This page exists because buried lines are the part people most want to understand before booking — they are the case where guessing costs the most.
Will you have to dig to find it?
Not to find it. Locating is done from the surface and the point is marked. Digging belongs to the repair, and the whole reason for locating first is that the opening can then be small and in the right place.
